Vype Vs Juul Review

Vype Vs Juul Review

Roula Matar

In the space of closed pod systems 2 major players are currently in the forefront of this multi million dollar industry. Yes, we are talking about Juul and Vype. We get asked this question on a daily basis about which one of these closed pod systems we would recommend at www.vape4change.ca.

I am going to share some facts about both units, along with my own personal experience with using both pod systems, and hopefully provide you with some insight that might be helpful when making a decision.

Let's first take a look at who's behind these conglomerate corporations.

The Vype e-cigarette was developed by CN Creative, a British start-up company acquired by BAT(British American Tobacco) in December 2012 for an estimated GB£30-50 million. When the product was launched, CN Creative was merged with BAT Research and Development and Nicoventures, which had been set up by BAT in 2011 to develop nicotine replacement therapy products.

BAT released Vype in 2013 in the UK, Germany and France.

In July 2014, BAT formed a “strategic partnership” with Reynolds American Incorporated (RAI) and then bought RAI in 2017.

When BAT bought RAI in 201720 it acquired R. J. Reynolds Vapour Company (RJRVC, a subsidiary of RAI) which had launched Vuse e-cigarettes in 2013. By 2015, Vuse was the leading e-cigarette brand in the US till Juul made its grand debut!

JUUL- Altria Group Inc is the company behind Juul Labs Inc. Altria Group Inc, the maker of Marlboro cigarettes, valued the company at $38 Billion when it invested $12.8 billion late last year for a 35% stake. In the three years after Juul launched in 2015, the company captured nearly 70 percent of the e-cigarette market, according to a Wells Fargo analysis of Nielsen sales data.

Now lets take a closer look at the Vype epod unit versus the Juul epod unit

The VYPE epod  battery capacity is 350mAh cell. The capacity of the battery is enough to last users through a whole day of light to moderate vaping.

The JUUL comes equipped with a 200mAh internal cell, which can be charged via a proprietary magnetic USB charger.

Both units have a cigarette-like draw and exhale which is perfect for adults looking to transition from cigarettes to vaping.

 Vype Pods Versus Juul Pods

Here is where I think one dominates the other in a big way. Vype epods have over 10 flavours to select from where Juul has 2 flavours left in the US and a few more in Canada. Your options for flavours are very limited, however a plethora of flavours are available with the Vype epod system.

Vype Pod Prices Versus Juul Pods

Vype dominates Juul as far as price point is concerned. Vype epods are around $12 CAD for 2 pods 1.8 ML each and Juul epods are around $21 CAD for a pack of 4 pods at 0.7 ML each.

Now, let me share with you my own personal experience using both devices.

I started with the Juul and I accredit the Juul pod system with helping me kick the habit! The nicotine salt to me was what I needed to finally make the transition. The throat hit I got from the Juul Virginia tobacco was the best throat hit and the flavour was bang on!

I used my Juul for about 2 years and then I decided give Vype a try. My first experience with Vype did not make me switch since I found the 5% nicotine level was a bit harsh for me.  A few months later I wanted to give Vype another chance since my wallet was in pain, and I desperately needed to find a cheaper alternative. I decided to try the 3.5% nicotine strength in the Vype instead and I was elated with the results! I was doing the Happy Dance because right there and then I knew how much money I will be saving and getting exactly what I needed at a much lower price point!

In conclusion, I think both devices are great and it all comes down to how much you want to spend, what flavours tickle your fancy and the esthetic of each of these devices.

Good luck with your journey and remember that
